our story
Odyssey Alliance stems from the Greek character, Odysseus who left home to protect and sustain his family. Odysseus was blown off course during his return from the Trojan War, and he spent 10 years traveling from island to island attempting to find his way home. He faced all sorts of tests and roadblocks along the way but continued to push forward until he arrived back. Odysseus defeated and conquered every foe against him to return. Upon arriving, he still had to prove he belonged and was, indeed, Odysseus, their long lost King. The trials of this journey, along with what happened when he finally returned to his homeland, are chronicled in Homer’s epic, “The Odyssey.”
Many businesses set out on this journey of ownership to create a legacy and a better life for themselves, their family and their lineage. Some set out to improve conditions in the world and offer a product that improves the quality of life for communities. Regardless of the reason, none of them quite expect the journey towards their vision to be so arduous and full of “adventure”. It can be easy to get derailed and forget why they went into business in the first place.

I founded Odyssey Alliance because I have worked for too many organizations that were not mentally safe for me or my colleagues. One of the main drivers of the great resignation is a lack of safety and a toxic culture. It is the business’ responsibility to ensure that every member of the team can learn, dissent, suggest, share, and just be themselves in an environment that recognizes them as a unique contributor to the space. Odyssey Alliance exists to help businesses accomplish this goal by assisting with strategy planning, analyzing impact, coaching leaders, and upskilling workforce."
